The Structural Member is a mechanism which allows the user to roll out a rigid board, platform or wall. Once the intended function is complete, it is a simple matter to roll up the rigid structural member for convenient storage or easy transportation.

The Structural Member consists of two rolls of hinged prisms that may be interlocked in a manner to prevent relative movement between mating prisms to form a rigid board, platform or wall. A limitless range of prism and hinge designs (material, size and shape) offers infinite variation of resulting functional structures (strength, size and contour).
